What Is CSEET?
CSEET stands for Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test. It is ICSI’s entrance examination for students taking the CSEET route into the CS Executive Programme.
Once you pass, you can proceed with Executive registration, subject to eligibility. You will still need to complete the later stages of the CS course and the applicable training requirements.
Some candidates can enter the Executive directly. Check which route applies to you before paying for entrance coaching.
What Changed In CSEET From June 2026?
The revised CSEET uses centre-based examinations and a combination of descriptive papers and an OMR paper. Students need written-answer practice alongside objective-question preparation.

The examination totals 400 marks. Sessions take place in February, June and October. There is no negative marking in the OMR paper. Use the relevant ICSI timetable and admit-card instructions for exact dates, reporting times and centre details. [1][2]
Online coaching remains a learning option, but the revised examination itself is centre-based. Choosing online classes does not mean you can take the examination from home.
Who Can Register For CSEET?
Indian nationals who have passed or are appearing in the Senior Secondary examination, 10+2, or an equivalent examination can apply under the published eligibility rules. Students still preparing for their Class 12 examinations should check the required supporting documents when applying.
Commerce students may already know some accounting concepts. Students from other backgrounds should allow more time for the basics and written problem-solving.
Graduates and postgraduates have an Executive direct-entry route under ICSI’s published provisions. Other eligible categories also exist, including CS Foundation pass students, CA Intermediate pass students and CMA Final pass students. Applicable fees and documentation depend on the route. How To Prepare For Each CSEET Paper
Business Communication
Work on clear English, comprehension and the communication tasks included in the syllabus. Reading a sample answer is useful, but writing your own answer shows where you struggle.
Start with short responses and read them back for clarity. Keep a notebook of grammar mistakes you repeat and review it before each practice test.
Fundamentals Of Accounting
Accounting takes practice on paper. After watching someone solve a problem, try a similar question yourself. Work through the prescribed topics using ICSI’s current material.
For every calculation, write the working and explain the treatment where required. If your final answer is wrong, trace the mistake to its source. Repeating the same type of question without correcting the method wastes study time.
Economic And Business Environment
Learn concepts well enough to explain them in your own words. A practical example can help you remember a topic, but your answer must still address the question asked.
After studying a chapter, close the book and write a brief explanation. Compare it with the material. If you have missed an important term or confused two ideas, you have found something specific to revise.
Business Laws And Management
Understand the prescribed legal and management concepts before moving to objective questions. Read every option carefully. When two answers look similar, a small difference in wording can change which one is correct.
Include OMR marking in your timed practice. When an answer is wrong, write down why you chose it. Were you unsure of the concept, or did you rush through the question? Each problem needs a different fix.

A Practical Weekly Preparation Routine
Start with the time you actually have in a normal week. Give each paper a place in your timetable. Leaving your least comfortable subject until the end usually makes revision harder.
On weekdays, revise the lesson you attended and complete a small practice task. Alternate written theory answers with accounting problems. Keep a shorter slot for Paper 4 questions.

ICSI Registration, SIP And Exam Enrolment
Joining a coaching institute and registering with ICSI are separate processes. Paying tuition does not automatically register you for CSEET or book an examination session.
The published registration fee is ₹7,500, including the Student Induction Programme and ICSI online classes. The examination fee is ₹1,500 per session, payable separately. Applicable concessions should be checked through ICSI. Academy tuition is a separate expense.

For students targeting February 2027, ICSI currently lists 31 October 2026 as the registration deadline. This is the registration cut-off, not the examination-enrolment deadline. Check later notifications for any revision.
What Are The CSEET Passing Criteria?
You must secure at least 40% in each paper and 50% overall in one sitting. There is no paper exemption or carry-forward of marks within CSEET.
For example, a total of 220 out of 400 does not qualify if one paper is below 40. Your preparation plan therefore needs to address the weakest subject as well as improve the total score.
