CA Intermediate Course Overview
The CA Intermediate Course, offered by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), is the second level in your Chartered Accountancy journey. It is designed to help you master subjects like Accounting, Taxation, Law, Auditing, Financial and Strategic Management. This course builds on your foundational knowledge and prepares you for real-world challenges in the field of finance.
You can join this course after passing the CA Foundation exam or directly after graduation. Commerce graduates need at least 55% marks, while non-commerce students must have 60%. If you’ve cleared CS Executive or CMA Intermediate, you’re also eligible. Final-year students can register provisionally and submit proof after passing.
The course includes two groups with eight subjects in total. Completing this level not only strengthens your core knowledge but also makes you eligible for Articleship training — a key milestone before the CA Final. It’s a critical step that brings you closer to becoming a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Through CA Intermediate Route:
> Pass the CA Intermediate exam.
Through Direct Entry Route:
>Commerce Graduates/Postgraduates: Minimum 55% aggregate marks.
>Non-Commerce Graduates/Postgraduates: Minimum 60% aggregate marks.
>Passed CS Executive or CMA Intermediate.
>Candidates in the last year of graduation can register provisionally but must provide proof of passing before practical training can commence.
