CS Executive Question Papers, Guideline Answers And Mock Practice

Practicing with CS Executive question papers helps you get used to the exam format, test your understanding and find topics that need more revision. ICSI publishes past question papers and guideline answers on its official website. Use papers that match your syllabus, then practise them under timed conditions.

Where To Find CS Executive Question Papers

ICSI publishes previous-session question papers on its Previous Sessions QPs page. Select the exam session and check that you have opened the paper for your programme and syllabus.

For example, ICSI’s December 2025 archive lists CS Executive papers under the 2022 syllabus, including papers for both groups. The archive also contains older papers, so check the syllabus and paper title before using one for practice.

If you are following the 2022 syllabus, the papers include:

  • Group 1: Jurisprudence, Interpretation & General Laws; Company Law & Practice; Setting Up of Business, Industrial & Labour Laws; Corporate Accounting & Financial Management.
  • Group 2: Capital Market & Securities Laws; Economic, Commercial & Intellectual Property Laws; Tax Laws and Practice.

Where To Find CS Executive Guideline Answers

ICSI’s Guideline Answers page provides answers by examination session and syllabus. It currently lists Executive Programme guideline answers for the 2022 syllabus by group. icsi.edu

Use guideline answers to review how an answer can be organised and what key points may need to be covered. They are study resources; don’t assume every correct answer must use identical wording. In law papers, focus on answering the question asked, explaining the relevant rule and applying it to the facts where required.

How To Practise With CS Executive Question Papers

A past paper works best when you treat it like an exam. Try this routine:

  1. Choose a relevant paper. Match its syllabus and paper title to your current subjects.
  2. Set a timer. Follow the duration and instructions shown for the paper or examination session.
  3. Attempt it without notes. This shows what you can recall and apply independently.
  4. Review your answers. Use the guideline answer to identify missed concepts, weak explanations or incomplete working.
  5. Record what to revise. Note the topic and the type of mistake, such as not understanding the provision, misreading the question or running short of time.
  6. Attempt the question again. Rework difficult questions after revising the relevant topic.

For numerical papers, show your working clearly and check calculations. For law-based papers, practise structuring answers so the explanation is easy to follow. Build in time to read each question carefully and review your paper before finishing.

How Many Previous Papers Should You Solve?

There is no fixed number that suits every student. Start with one paper to understand your current level. Then use additional papers to practise weaker areas and improve your timing. Spend time reviewing each attempt; solving papers without checking your mistakes gives you less useful feedback.

Use older papers with care. Syllabi, laws and examination requirements can change, so confirm that a question or answer remains relevant before relying on it. ICSI’s current syllabus and session-specific updates should guide your preparation.

Common Mistakes To Avoid

  • Using papers from a different syllabus without checking: The paper may cover topics or formats that do not match your course.
  • Reading answers before attempting the questions: Try the paper first so you can assess what you know.
  • Memorising guidelines answers word for word: Focus on understanding concepts and presenting a clear response.
  • Ignoring time management: Practise completing the paper within the available time.
  • Skipping answer review: Identify why marks may have been lost and revise those topics.
  • Relying only on past papers: Use them alongside the applicable ICSI study material and updates.
